Our Elves Getting Ready for the Holiday Card Exchange!
Our class chose to participate in the Holiday Card Exchange this year. After signing up, we were put into a group with 29 other classrooms from across North America. Since this year's theme is "snowglobes", we created cards that incorporated them.
A few students stayed in one recess to help stuff the envelopes and seal them with a little Christmas cheer.
Finally they were ready to go to the post office!
And now we wait in anticipation for our first card to arrive! Hopefully some will come in before the Open House so you can see them!

I like the idea of sharing your activities with whomever chooses to look in on you. Visuals are great too.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the comment! Your comment was our very first! :-) We are excited to keep sharing our learning with everyone.

I love the idea of the card exchange! Your class is certainly learning about the world through these ventures!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the comment! It was really fun making all of the cards. Maybe next year you could try it with your class? So far, we have received 9 cards from all over the United States and one from Canada.
DeleteI had the pleasure of subbing on the day the class made the snowglobe cards! There were some really neat ideas, like: "If I lived in a snowglobe, I would make snow angels everywhere!" and "If I lived in a snowglobe, I would try to find Santa!"
ReplyDeleteThanks for the comment! We loved having you as a sub the day we made the cards. Could you sub in our classroom again? Our class would be glad if you did! :-)
DeleteHi Braybrook's Bunch!
ReplyDeleteYou can't BEGIN to imagine my surprise, this morning, when I was checking the stats for the Global Grade 3 blog and I saw a "hit" from your class blog. Even BETTER ... when I CLICKED on that link, I discovered that your class has started to FOLLOW our blog. I will add YOU to the list of blogs we follow TOO!
Wow. Another classroom blogging in Alberta! I am SO excited for you all! You are going to LOVE this learning journey. Your PARENTS are going to love this learning journey! Connecting with the world has been one of the MOST amazing teaching and learning experiences I have EVER had the opportunity to be a part of.
Not only will you benefit from writing for a global audience, you will LEARN from that global audience and the COMMENTS they leave behind.
I am SO excited to read that you have joined the Holiday Card Exchange, and your snowglobe cards look FABULOUS! I BET you had a TON of fun making those beautiful creations. I can't wait to share your blog with my students this morning. It will be a TON of fun following your journey.
I hope you enjoy this amazing learning journey ... get ready for an INCREDIBLE experience as global learners!
Laurie Renton :)
